There are 23 county chapter members of the Oregon Master Gardener Association where volunteers answer gardening questions at OSU Extension offices, at community Farmers’ markets, and at Master Gardener events. Volunteers create and manage demonstration gardens, school gardens and community gardens. They host garden tours, workshops and classes in their communities.

County Chapter Requirements
OSU Extension Administration’s expectation is for an OSU Extension Master Gardener chapter to remain active, it must
be under the stewardship of an Extension faculty member. The name and logo are trademarked and under the protection of OSU. So, the need for oversight of the Extension faculty member is needed.
Local support dollars for OSU Extension programs are necessary before faculty positions will be assigned or continued in a county.
