Advocacy-2

Advocacy is one of the OMGA priorities for the 2025 Legislative Session

Save the Date – March 5th – Legislative Day – Statewide Program at the Capitol

This will be an opportunity for some of our Advocacy Team members to have “in the trenches” experience with a day in Salem to help
bring the OSU/MG Program message to key legislators. We work directly with the OSU External Affairs, Communications and Government
Relations Departments and other programs within the Extension Service to have our voices heard in Salem. On this day, we go in teams to
several legislators’ offices and expound on how important our Statewide Programs are and how we need our budget request to be made a
priority to bring to the people of Oregon essential and valuable services and information through our many Extension and Statewide
Programs.

Coming soon to this Advocacy Page, we will have the new OSU Statewide Program focus for the 2025 Legislative Session as well as:

  • New Priorities & New Approaches for Getting Our Message to the Legislators
  • New Talking Points
  • New Letters to Send
  • How Best Lead the Charge in Your Chapter
  • Timeline for the 2025 Legislative Session
  • Ways to Get Involved on a Local Level
  • Key Roles for Advocacy Team and Chapter Members
  • Why Advocacy is so Important to the Master Gardener Program and Extension Service as a Whole

Please know, I am available at any time to discuss Advocacy with you and how we as OMGA can move forward during this 2025 Legislative Budget Session.
