Growing Gardeners – G2 Conference

Formerly known as Mini-College

OMGA’s G2 educational conference, formerly Mini-College, is being specifically planned to stimulate your passion for gardening in Oregon. Master Gardeners from across the state will be able to attend classes (most will earn you your required CEU’s for recertification), enjoy wonderful cuisine and share friendship and knowledge in an academic setting on the campus of Linfield College in McMinnville. Plan to attend and maybe invite a friend to come along to share the experience. The OMGA website will be up and running soon with all the pertinent details of the G2  conference with a link to registration. Please keep an eye out for it. An email will be sent out when it is active again.

Some of the basic information for the G2 conference is listed here:

  • The G2 opens Thursday night with the Volunteer Appreciation Reception from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM on Walker Patio on Linfield’s campus.
  • Onsite conference check-in will begin on Thursday afternoon from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM along with campus housing check-in.
  • The Annual Awards Banquet will be held Friday night on the lawn with a reception, music and beverages starting at 5:30 PM with to follow.
  • Other familiar activities that will make a repeat appearance are:  the Silent Auction, Send-A- Friend Raffle (a beautiful quilt plus much more), Hands-on Workshops, Advanced Classes and Tours.
  • Linfield College is opening both dorms and apartments for those who would like to stay on campus during the conference.  This is the most economical housing arrangement.  You can choose a single or share a room in the dorm or have a single room in a 4 person apartment.  Prices and instructions for making your reservations will be posted on this website soon and communicated via email to all OMGA chapters.  Yes, a dorm party is planned for Friday night after the banquet!
